Experimental Skies 2

The weekly theme is ‘experimental’.

During a short holiday in the South of Spain we had an apartment with a breath taking view over the Mediterranean Sea. Using a long lens made the view even more fun. The effects of light, water and sky were quite surprising.

Elemental: Water (Chatsworth)

This weekly theme is ‘elemental’.

This is one of the most known old country manors of England: Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, from the top of the Cascade.

About the B4 retouch series:
I browsed my archive for pictures to publish. Some of them are partly retouched but most do have scratches, dust and stains.

Chaos: Sky Blue

This weekly theme is ‘chaos’.

Chaos in the end results into an order of something new in a different form or shape. It is about flow and freedom to play and create and destroy. For me clouds fit that picture especially when they tower over us as giants looking down on our flat land.
Or race it on the wind in Autumn, or slowly hover lazily as in Summer. In my head I can always hear this song looking at clouds in a blue sky: Sky Blue by Peter Gabriel.

Cherry on Top (Clouds)

This weekly theme is ‘cherry on top’.

The Netherlands are a flat country. Horizons are low. Sometimes you have the luck to cover up a scenic photo with a beautiful cloudy sky. Especially when your are driven in a just purchased new car. No cherries here though.

B4 Retouch: Sky, Tourist in my own Town

One of the pleasurable bonuses of being on WordPress is meeting new people from over the world.
And become more connected to their life and adventures. One blog I enjoy reading is of a Canadian living in Shanghai.
Being a teacher but travelling as much as possible, sharing the impressions of living in China.
Canadian Travel Bugs is a blog worth frequent visits. Apart from stories there are wonderful photos of places.
To top it all there is a monthly photo challenge as well! This month it is about skylines of your home town.

An old picture of the view to the west from the loft of my parents’ house.
I took lots of pictures of sunsets from here, a fond memory. It is not the skyline of Shanghai but it is one that endears me.

The B4 retouch series:
I browsed my archive for pictures to publish in – an originally – small series.
That series caught on a bit more than I thought.
All of them are not retouched yet.
Scratches, dust and stains are not removed.

The N11 near Alphen aan den Rijn.

And the occasional new windmill.
