An old photo taken in February 1991 through the gate of De Burcht in Leiden, The Netherlands looking at the Hooglandse Kerk.

About the B4 retouch series:
I browsed my archive for pictures to publish. Some of them are partly retouched but most do have scratches, dust and stains.

Optimistic (Arches)

This week’s theme is ‘optimistic’. Some photos just make me happy. This is one of them. The funny part of this story is that I still know that this one made me feel good, and I can remember that feeling walking around in the church at Dinan in Brittany.

The B4 retouch series
I browsed my archive for pictures to publish in – an originally – small series. That series caught on a bit more than I thought. All of them are not retouched yet. Scratches, dust and stains are not removed.

WPC: Beneath Your Feet (Playground)

The theme of the WPC this week is Beneath your Feet.  Shakespeare started a monologue with the famous words ‘All the world’s a stage’. In this monologue he compares life to play; he names seven stages of man, among them infant and boy. If a child could compare life to something I hope it says ‘All the world’s a playground, and all men are merely playing’.  At the same time I hope that playing is not just a stage of life but an essential element of human attitude towards life! It is the source of being creative, and creativity is what we need now more than ever.
